Bride and Groom: Nia & Stuart
wedding date: 10th September 2011
wedding ceremony: Old Church, Penallt
wedding reception: Parkfields Country House, Pontshill, Ross on Wye
Bridal preparations took place at Nia’s parents cottage, what a perfect place for photographs it was! Hair and make up was all happening at the conservatory filled with beautiful day light, and that is always hugely appreciated by photographers and make up artists. To the lovely brides to be: when deciding on the place to get ready bear in mind that light is everything, as well as general style of the place, the beauty of it, and lastly: the tidiness of it. I personally absolutely LOVE the preparation images as this is the most playful (and least stressful!) part of the day. I realize there’s a tradition to get ready at your mum or nan’s house etc… but if you want the most out of your wedding photographs before you follow the tradition or agree ‘to what your family would prefer’ look at the place first. Is it…beautiful? Does it have a lot of character? Is it stylish? What is the quality of light in there? Is it tight and packed with items or spacious and decluttered? If it’s a hotel’s room is it small with the massive bed in the middle obstructing every angle? What is the color of the walls, the style of furniture, are there any interesting textures and colours? Do you visually like it? There are few hours of morning photographs to be taken at this place, make sure you choose it the same way you choose the venue for your ceremony, reception, couple shots etc…
