Sara & Pete’s wedding was my first destination commission of 2015. Working predominantly as a South Wales wedding photographer now and again I venture outside of the country – so I guess I could describe myself something along the lines of an occasionaldestination wedding photographer. ;) I have travelled to photograph weddings in some incredible places all over the globe and as much as I love an odd adventure destination weddings are also an incredibly hard work – especially when on my own! The way I shoot, the amount of gear that I use throughout the day makes any abroad wedding a very challenging one. I tend not to book more than 3 destination jobs per wedding season and it seems to work just great for me.
When it comes to Sara and Pete’s wedding I was very lucky that my friend Tom joined as a second shooter (feel free to check his work! Tom’s portfolio). He made both the journey and the whole experience so much more enjoyable. Flying out we were also accompanied by Matt from Teardrop Films (check his amazing video’s here! Matt’s work) so with the team of three we set off to conquer Tenerife ;)
What else can I say – it was a wonderful day at a truly dreamlike location, absolutely perfect weather and fantastic bunch of people. After a long day of working in the heat we were wiped off our feet but stormed right to the hotel lobby to download the images/footage and have a peek! A venue like Sheraton and the southern light is a treat for every wedding photographer, endless opportunities!
Take a look at the selection of my favourite images below, I would love to teleport there right now!
