My name is Andrew and I run a wedding and function band. I’m also a videographer, filming music related content from my recording studio in Cardiff. I’ve taken over Aga’s blog today as I was lucky enough to be invited to help second shoot a wedding with her last Thursday, my first ever wedding hitting the shutter button rather than my drum kit. I should probably point out that the couple had not booked a second shooter, Aga only uses trained photographers if that option is required.
My experience with wedding photographers can be summed up in four words; ‘when’s the first dance?’. Usually asked by a tired, slightly sweaty person massaging his or her neck. ;)
But back to the wedding. Jamie and Lindsey had chosen the fabulous Corran Resort and Spa in Carmarthenshire for the reception, with the ceremony held at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Carmarthen, a short drive away.
The couple shots were the most interesting for me, as it gave me an opportunity to watch how Aga works. Her photos always look so effortlessly natural it’s easy to forget the amount of work she has to put in to achieve those results. Back at the reception the weather was glorious and the atmosphere was perfect. Aga continued to teleport around the grounds, unobtrusively appearing at the perfect time to capture a moment of action.
Below is a selection of images we took on the day. I am very proud to say that a fair few of my own shots have been featured. I can’t wait for the next one!
I would like to thank Jamie and Lindsey for making this such a great experience. They were undoubtedly two of the friendliest, genuine people I have met and I wish them a very happy life together.
