Every wedding photographer is familiar with the list of 30 Rising Stars – the annual, worldwide competition run by Rangefinder magazine. Its aim is to find and promote young talent within the photography industry. The list has been the source of inspiration to me ever since its first appearance and it’s an incredible privilege to be featured on it.
In order to take part in the competition one must be introduced to the panel by one of the previously selected photographers, go through the verification process and then submit a collection of 30 images representing their style, skill and personality. Few months ago I received the news about being nominated by Sam Docker (check his portfolio here, it’s mind-blowing!) whose work I’ve been admiring for years. He was featured on the Rangefinder’s list in 2015 and I found it incredibly flattering he chose me as one of his nominees.
I have submitted the images displayed below and even though I didn’t make it to the final list of 30 names I really enjoyed the process of assessing my own work, defining my style, building the selection and being part of such a prestigious event of a world scale. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the winners even though we don’t know them yet, the list will appear very soon, keep your eye out for it! :)
