Hannah and Tom held their wedding ceremony & reception at the amazing Barn at Bury Court in Bentley, Surrey. I haven’t photographed at this venue before but heard a lot of praise from my wedding photography friends so I was more than excited to finally work at what was promised to be an incredible setting. And it only exceeded my expectations. Quirky architecture, the mix of modern and old, rustic and contemporary, stunning gardens, textures, decor details – these are only a few attributes of this place.
My second shooter, Voyteck, arrived to capture the groom getting ready with his family and friends whilst I stayed with Hannah at her parents house where together with her parents and bridesmaids she prepared for the ceremony. The girls were then driven to the Barn by a mighty Rolls Royce.
After the ceremony the wedding guests spread into the gardens accompanied by the string quartet. The vintage ice cream cart where the bride and groom were serving homemade ice cream was the perfect addition to this English wedding movie-like scene. I remember some rain showers appearing in the afternoon and even an odd umbrella image taken but nothing could disturb the atmosphere of this beautiful summer gathering. The style of this wedding in conjunction with the setting was everything a wedding photographer could wish for. Delicate, modern elegance, rustic and romantic, the reception room looked absolutely incredible! Barn at Bury Court is definitely one of the most beautiful, quirky, atmospheric venues I have ever had the pleasure to shoot at. The staff were more than accommodating and everything was organised to perfection, I was told the bride kept her eye on every detail and everything came together beautifully. Thomas’s smile was brightening the room, Hannah’s beauty dazzled, it was an easy day in wedding photographer’s life! ;)
Below a selection of my favourite captures, so excited to be sharing it! xx

Huge thanks to Hannah & Tom for choosing me to be their South Wales wedding photographer.
Beautiful story Aga, it was a great day!
Awesome pictures Aga! Beautiful place and people.
Stunning photos! Have you used your new Sony A7 for this or any other recent wedding?

Thanks Andy! I have used it but not at the above wedding (it took place back in June), I will soon blog a wedding where I’ve given sony a full spin though ;) xx
Awesomeness! :) Cannot wait to see what you got out of it! Can you see it as your main wedding camera or only supplementing D4? As you can probably guess I’m toying with an idea of getting one to supplement or replace my 5DIII.
Ah I see, yep debating the same! I think I will keep my D4s and replace the second body (D4) with sony. 3 cameras is killing my back haha. So far I am so impressed with the A7RII, the focus is insane! (only once I’ve assigned a button for eye tracking and switched onto expandable spot, I don’t even bother with static focus anymore). I have two weddings filled with risky sony shots, they are queuing at the moment, editing of sony files is a bit different to nikon but nothing major, it’s like images from various lenses looking slightly different and requiring slight adjustments to keep them all consistent. I need to see on my large screen whether the focus from some rather silly situations was indeed nailed (it seemed so in the camera!) Then I’ll let half of my nikon’s go ;)
Thank you for taking the time to reply and for all the information :) Really tempted to give it a shot. And as I’ve mentioned – cannot wait to see the wedding you shot with this camera! Love your work.
All the best :)
Andy
This is phenomenal.
